Usually you’ll need 6 weeks for all the bleeding to stop and for your uterus to heal from where the placenta detached. You’ll also need energy for the sleepless nights ahead. Sometimes our bodies need time to heal. At your 6 week pp check up your OB will let you know if you’re all good to workout etc.
It is advised to see physio to check for abdominal separation and pelvic floor. Your body needs to heal before you go back to excercise as you can do more harm if exercising incorrectly.
You will need minimum 6 weeks rest before recommencing any exercise. It can be even longer if you had a c-section. I would seek clearance from a physio.
Girlie, rest - your body has just done something huge and the most important thing you can do is rest as much as possible around tending to baby's needs. The gym isn't going anywhere.
