You have to allow him to learn how to self soothe. I don’t mean let him cry either. Just a regular routine like a playing, bottle, bath, book and turn on the sound machine.

Done all the it last a few days and then he goes back to not working

What time is his nap/s and for how long and then bedtime?

Bedtime is between 7/8 and he only has 1 nap for a hour and half x

How old is he?

He 1 year old

That’s not a huge amount of daytime sleep- could you try getting another nap in? X

@Gemma you don’t know how much overall sleep he has had. Daytime sleep depends on the amount of hours they sleep at night and introducing a second nap is pointless as he will have to drop it soon anyway. @Liv what time do you put that nap? Does he have 5-6 hrs between waking and nap and then bed time? I had to drop my son’s 90 min nap down to 60 or 75 minutes just so he is tired enough to sleep through the night. With 5/6 hrs of wake time before bed, he is asleep within 5 mins of me rocking him to sleep

There is a regression around 18 months so could be that. Any chance of teething or illness? I would try a consistent bedtime. What time does he wake in the morning? 1.5 hour nap is perfectly normal for that age. Might just need to play around with wake windows and make sure you’re not aiming for too much total sleep. Average for 1-2 year olds including nap is 11-14 hours.

Does your son sleep with you or in a separate room?
