Elective c section

If youve had an elective c section and you hadn't started labour at all before hand, did you bleed vaginally straight away? Or is there a delay? With my 1st I had an emergency c section but I was fully dilated and pushing, the whole shabang at that point so I bled straight away.. im just trying to see where I'll stand with by 2nd baby who is going to be elective, please.

Yeah you’ll still bleed. The placenta wound is the same and lochia, the difference is you won’t notice or feel it for a few hours as you’ll still be numb and the midwives will deal with your pads. I was in recovery and could see the bleeding. Soaked through a few pads in the first few days xx

Thank you xx

You will bleed instantly like any kind of birth. So make sure to take maternity pads and lose fitting pants and bottoms. I felt anything too tight was so uncomfortable on my stomach, it was tender for days as well as having the incision site which is sore initially. Xx

yeah i starting bleeding same day

Hi, I had elective C-section, but my cervix was still closed, so the blood stayed inside made my tummy extend. I ended up having an infection and stayed in hospital for 5 days. The worst thing that I kept telling staff and doctors that something is not right. A doctor told me that I was “cleaned out” so well during surgery that I should not bleed. Obviously that was 🐂 💩 Around day 3 I started doing some pelvic floor exercises and tummy tuck exercises, and at night all the 🩸 came out at once. Hopefully it does not happen to you, as this was my first pregnancy and my son was in a breech position, so there was no pressure on my cervix. Sorry being so graphic, but I thought maybe this story could be helpful for someone.
