Induction isn't really working
Got propess inserted at 8 am yesterday, contractions started at 5pm yesterday, they were pretty unbearable. Eased a bit and became bearable around 8pm. Got took to the delivery suite at 6am to break my waters but I wasn't even a cm dilated, but my contractions were coming up every 3 mins at sitting around 80 on the toco. The midwife couldn't break them so called in the consultant and he couldn't either. Said no more hormones as my body is contracting far too much for the stage I'm at. Decided to put a balloon in but I wasn't really dilated enough for it either. Ended up being a real struggle and I started to bleed quite a lot from the procedure. He tried again with me using gas and air to try and force the catheter through and managed to inflate it. Said ideally he'll want it to fall out before 12 hours. It's been just over 8 and still no sign, contractions are coming in very strong still but not really doing anything. 22 hours of contractions and no sign of baby anytime soon.
Starting to struggle a lot to be honest, I'm running on zero sleep and it's really starting to take it out of me. Said we will keep the balloon in to 6am to give my body the time is needs but probably not much chance. Said we will have to go back to using hormones if it doesn't work and I don't think I have it in me to go for another round. It's been 31 hours since my induction started already. Feeling so fed up!!! I wasn't even meant to be having an induction but a silly junior doctor measured fluid around baby wrong and decided they needed to come out asap. Got a scan with a consultant and the fluid was fine..... I was 40+5 at the time so decided to induce me while I was here and gave me no choice.
Was booked in for a water birth but not allowed it anymore, have to have continuous monitoring now too which means I'm not allowed to move from the bed. It's all just a shit show.
I’m so sorry this is your experience, could you speak to them about a C-section if the pain and tiredness is too much?
