Same boat as us, I havent been able to put her down awake except a few times when she was like 4-5 months. I have to hold/rock to sleep and transfer. Some babies just cant settle as well on their own and need help to go to sleep but they do all learn in time
Neither of my children at this age have been able to put themselves to sleep if just laid in their cot. I’ve supported them to sleep (fed, held, rocked etc) and then transferred. It’s really normal for young babies to not be able to settle themselves to sleep.
I was fighting her for an hour but after a long day i gave up and I put her on the bed and I’m not joking she was fast on in two minutes 😫😫
@Sarah aw that sounds horrible for you, something that helped me is just asking myself "does it really matter where she falls asleep?!" The fact bub HAS fallen asleep is the goal, who cares if they never fall asleep in the cot again, just a big win if they do one day but honestly what does it matter. We all put so much pressure on ourselves to be doing the 'right' thing and sometimes just cuddling to sleep in the big bed and transferring is just as ok xx
Actually yeah you’re right and after a long day if putting her on the bed helps why wouldn’t I . Thanks. Now for the risky transfer haha xx
@Chloe I just saw this the second I opened instagram and its killed me, so relevant 😂 https://www.instagram.com/reel/DCpSfMNR0mR/?igsh=N21lZGJyMWwwcGNq
@Sarah She won’t need you to help her to get to sleep forever, so do whatever makes your life easier for now! I can’t be bothered to fight with my little one when it comes to sleep, or to spend hours waiting/trying/resettling etc, so I just do what’s best for me tbh 😂🤷🏻♀️
Luckily we’re okay at nighttime but my girl won’t settle for naps in the cot ever! Interested to see if anyone has any tips🤞🏼x
