I’m in the same boat! All the teacher told me is that they’re working with him but idk how to help him myself when he won’t learn for me! Hang in there mama
Try All About Reading!
I’ve also bought blank flash cards and had my son write the letters on them (uppercase one side lower the other)
It’s okay! She just needs to keep working at it. Kindergarten is the start of her academics. I have my two sons in kindergarten. And they have to work on it too.
My son has a learning disability and he is autistic/ adhd. He has an iep to help him. I wouldn’t rush her mama. All kids learn at different rates. But I would suggest getting a white bord (I have the one that has lines and has a blank side) and just each day practice a letter with her. Only do one letter at a time. Or u can get one of those magnetic bord that have lower and uppercase letters on them. I have one for my son.
Play games with letters! Make it fun. There are lots of ideas in Pinterest.
Maybe flashcards?
Thank you all! I think she’s bored and uninterested staring at a piece of paper so I was looking for some alternative fun ways to do it!
I use ABC mouse with my kids. They have all kinds of games to learn lowercase and upper case
Alphabet letters on the fridge help too
@Hannah yes those magnetic boards are awesome !
You can also try picking one or two letters and point them out/stress the letter when you read books/bedtime stories. The next day pick different letters. I'm trying to do the same . . . my Kindergartner is expected to know and spell sight words and is struggling to say the least.
You can play find the letter at home with just posted notes and a marker. Put the uppercase letters on the wall and then he has to find the lower case letter that matches around the house.
only advice is to work on it at home ! That’s what I do with my kindergartner and it has helped ! You can look up worksheets online specifically for upper and lower case letters or those flash cards they sell !
