We don't have the heating on overnight and the temp drops I've been dressing mine in vest, sleepsuit, fleecey sleepsuit and then a fluffy blanket. We're cosleeping so he'll be getting some warmth from me to.
I don’t have heating at all in my flat because it’s night storage heating meaning it has to be on 24 hours a day and I can’t even control the heat. It’s horrible. I bought a halogen heater from b&m for £25 and it’s so cheap to run and heats up the room in minutes!! When I don’t have it in I layer baby up as much as possible 😂 but I’m in love with my little heater. No risk of co2 or carbon monoxide as it’s not gas either it’s perfect I’ll find the link and add it (my baby is only three months so isn’t mobile yet but it does get very hot) xx https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/blaupunkt-halogen-heater-359789
@Leah these are life savers. They get used in countries that are a lot colder than England!! I 100% recommend getting one
@Rafia they really are amazing. Best and cheapest way to stay warm 🩵
As far as I'm aware oil filled portable radiators are cheapest to run and produce alot of heat if you need something for just one room. I've been keeping my heating on the same constantly and it doesn't seem to be costing more. It takes alot of energy to heat up a house that's gone cold overnight so I'm just trying to keep the temperature steady.
We use the long sleeve sleep sacks, long vest and baby grow, heaters are also cheaper than putting heating on! I 100% get you we seem to have it on all the time as our flats old and it is so expensive x
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re struggling. I would defo put more layers on the baby and if they’re still quite young then swaddle them up as babies love that and put a hat on. I would also suggest co sleeping with the baby as your body heat would also help keep them warm.
