How much bigger does the bump get

I’m 31+3 and I have a decent sized bump, my size 10 normal coat just does up but I think by next week it won’t. I’m a bit loathed to spend money on a maternity coat because once baby is here I won’t have the belly and due to back issues I prob won’t wear him much. I can size up to a 12 but I still don’t know if that’s going to accommodate a 38/39 week bump. I can’t go any bigger because I’m 5ft2in and a petite person so a much larger size will swamp me.

I just don’t do mine up and wear a long scarf keeps me warm enough

You could have a look on vinted for maternity coats, I managed to get a nice one for £15. Like you, I didn’t want to spend loads as I’m only going to wear it for a month, but I’m glad I got it in the end as all my other coats no longer zip up (I’m 33 weeks) and I hate being cold in winter 😄

Same as @Kira but I also don't go out much anymore or driving. If you want you can get a 2in1 maternity coat, that also will serve when you carry the baby in a carrier...I second Vinted. And you can sell it back when you are done

My mum gave me her old size 16 parka coat (I'm a size 10/12 usually) it's fits over the bump nicely but I know it'll be huge once my bump is gone! But definitely have a look on vinted for some bargains 😊

I hate to break it to you but I’ve been told your tummy will still be quite big postpartum ☺️ so it might be worth investing in a bigger coat for this winter.

My tummy with both pregnancies started to get big from 32 weeks onwards. I went from a 10/12 to a 16 in jumpers and coats. Even after birth you will be bigger for a few months so having a decent sized winter coat for pre and post baby is the best option. You won’t be back in that normal size 10 coat till Feb/March xx

I'd just use a warm scarf too. I don't really see the point of investing knowing it will also be my last pregnancy. Maybe it would be different if I was spending a lot of time outside but I don't really so it's fine.

I just wear a hoody under my coat and don’t bother buttoning it up

I refuse to buy a maternity coat too. I’m 31+ 3 and still fitting into all my usual coats. Did think about buying a maternity coat a few months ago but couldn’t justify the expense and haven’t seen anything suitable on Vinted

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07FC3H4DW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share this has been by far my favourite maternity purchase, it just zips into my normal coat

After birth you can also use it for baby wearing

But yeah, my normal coat is/was quite expensive (but I've had it for years and maintained it well) so I also refused to buy a new coat lol - the zipusin extender panel has been amazing

I know everyone hates it but I ended up buying a maternity coat from shein. Cost me less than £20. I couldn’t justify spending the £50+ anywhere else and couldn’t find one on Vinted. Considering it’s a shein buy, it’s very good quality and keeps me very warm. It came with the extra part so it can be worn whilst baby wearing too

I’m the same. So I bought on Vinted 2 size bigger winter jacket for £7 (not maternity - as I feel this label just get everything more expensive), that will take me throughout the winter but won’t be waste. I’m super happy with it.

Yeah just don’t do it up and wear more layers and also a long scarf. I haven’t bought a new coat either and don’t plan to - I think a chunky scarf does the trick to help ‘close the gap’
