Laying on my side was not possible for me until about 4 weeks. It felt like my guts would spill out and there was a lot of tugging on the incision. The first 3 weeks or so, I slept on my back but with a wedge under my upper body so I was slightly propped up. Similar angle as the hospital bed. When getting up, try to have something to pull yourself up with so you don't have to flex your abdomen. Either tie a scarf to the bottom frame of your bed or have your partner help pull you up.
Yes I slept on my back for about 2 weeks and to get from off and on the bed I put my two feet in front of me like bending them and use my feet to push my self off and on the bed by sliding while pushing from my hands
I slept on the couch for the first week with baby in his next2me in the living room with me it’s not ideal but it helped me get up instead of laying on a low bed! X
Buy the bed rail after surgery supporter which helps to get up and down. I am in my 4th week post c-section and it has been immensely helpful. The pressure is not on your abdomen and goes on the hand holding the bed rail supporter. Link is below (look for something similar): https://a.co/d/9Boa0fI
I personally was most comfortable if I propped myself up and slept kinda half sitting up. I couldn’t sleep on my side at first cause it was too uncomfortable
I was most comfortable on my side with a pillow under my hips and another between my knees. Getting up from bed was definitely rough for the first week or so (I'm about 3 weeks pp) but I would get onto my side and then push my upper body up with my arms then kind of rock into a sitting position.
