Breastfeeding (still!)

Anyone else still breastfeeding? I’m going on 17 months and my daughter still prefers breast milk to anything else. We are starting to wean and only nurse about 3-4 times per day now. I didn’t think much of it but lately people started to make comments at work about how I’m STILL pumping and I feel judged..

Nothing bothers me more than people always having an opinion or a comment to make when no one asked for it! I’d love for everyone to understand how every mom does motherhood differently, and it’s OKAY.

👏🏼 way to go!! You rock, it’s amazing that you’ve been giving your baby thee best source of nutrition for all this time!! I’d happily refer those who feel the need to judge to the recommendations of the AAP & CDC, which is 24 months. Ps - yes, I am on month 16 of breastfeeding. Just introduced cows milk this week and my son hates it so far 🫠 We too are trying to wean, as he’s still every 3hrs and 3x overnight 🙈 It’s a journey! Be proud, momma! Keep it up and let’s help make this the norm 🥰

I am still nursing but stopped pumping at work a few months ago. However that was because I wanted to be done pumping. Don't let anyone else influence your decision!

Yes, I’m on the same boat. Just not pumping. She still very much so prefers milk.

I wish I would have been able to still be pumping. My body gave up. Don't let other people's shitty opinions and comments wear on you, it's amazing you're still able to do that!

You do what you think is best for your baby and don’t let anyone tell you what to think!! I got pregnant when my baby was 7 months and we made it to 10 months before my body told me to stop but if that weren’t the case I planned to go until my girl decided to stop!

Lucky 😭 my daughter self weaned at 11 and a half months and I miss that bond so damn much! I cried when she weaned and I wasn’t ready lol! Forget wtf ppl say!

Yup we’re still nursing! No pumping as I’m at home with my baby! She nurses when she wakes up, when she goes to sleep (at night and a little bit for nap) and then also when she wakes up for nap. This has just been our usual for so long now I can’t imagine any other way. I try and give her cows milk but she doesn’t like it. I thought she would start to show a disinterest in it at some point but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m sure there’s people that judge that but it is what it is. It works best for us!

I’m still breastfeeding my 16month old. Breastfeeding is recommended for 2 years so don’t mind those who judge.

“Oh! He STILL does- that.” Or “Sooooo how long are you going to keep doing this…?” Nunya! Is what my brain says but my mouth says something like at least through the winter but maybe until he is two. We will see how it goes. He nurses 2-3 times a day. As in lays still and actually nurses. He will want it if I sit down near him (or he just needs to check and verify my boobs are still there) but it’s very brief and he is back to what he was doing. I stopped pumping just before he turned one. I really hated pumping. I was worried my supply would drop so much that it would frustrate him when he wanted to nurse as I was a low producer but it went seamlessly.

I just officially stopped last month, my son was 17 months old.. you do what’s best for you & baby. You stop when yall are both ready, i know of someone who breastfed until 3 years old. It’s no shame in doing what’s best for you & yours.

He drinks cow milk during the day but nurses to sleep and nurses in the morning. I just stopped pumping cause I hated it so much. He drinks anything out of a cup but he loves to nurse.

We are on month 17 of breastfeeding. Stopped pumping around the 1 year mark as my baby started refusing bottles at daycare, so she only nurses when we are together (3-4 times) and I'm in no rush to wean her. Just keep doing what's best for you and your baby.

I’m still nursing on demand 🙂 I got pregnant again 6 months pp, continued breastfeeding all of pregnancy up until birth and immediately after. Currently 2 weeks pp and still nursing my first and yeah ppl have made comments also, fck em 🥰

Yes, still breastfeeding overnight and I’m also 32 weeks pregnant. I’m planning on breastfeeding all through pregnancy and tandem feeding both toddler and baby ~

I'm still nursing! My daughter had cmpa, so we're slowly introducing cows milk, but I still plan on nursing until she is 2!

I'm still breastfeeding as well! 16 months here 😭 but my son refuses the bottle at night and since he's teething again he only wants breastmilk. He'll do ok with his dad or grandparents with a bottle but when he's with me he throws fits constantly . I've tried to ween him and I wind up giving in.

Way to go momma! Still going with babe #3 @16mo but mostly down to twice a day now. No pumping.

I stopped pumping at about 14 months and breast fed until about 17 months. She still wants to for comfort but mostly drinks cow milk now. Do what’s best for you and baby

I’m still nursing too and my in laws give me looks but to pay no mind because it’s my body and my baby and I will ween soon but when it’s the right time do what works best for you and your family don’t mind what other uneducated people say they don’t know 🙏

i’m still breastfeeding too !! my babe is 17 months old and he seems to not have any plans to stop but i want to . he’s very stuck in his ways and i need tips to stop
