Pelvic pain

Not really sure how to say/ask this other than saying it feels like I’ve been kicked in the fanny 😂 is anyone else having a pain/ache on their bits and lower abdomen at all? I’m nearly 30 weeks and it’s the only thing that’s just started that’s making me really uncomfortable 😅

Yep! That’s pelvic girdle 😂 I tried to explain to my husband and said ‘it’s like leapfrogging a metal bollard and not making enough height!’ 😅 you can speak to your GP if it’s really causing you issues and they will refer you for physio. Some people can end up on crutches it’s actually really debilitating so don’t suffer in silence! X

Oh I’m glad it’s “normal” it’s so hard to explain the feeling 😂😂 but I think you’ve got it spot on 😂😂😂

I’m 30 weeks on Sunday and have had this for the last 2 weeks, by the end of the day it’s so painful and my groin feels swollen some days! It’s also linked with a backache in the middle on one side! Roll on the finish line, we’re almost at the 10 week countdown! 😂 xx

@Steph I can’t wait to have this baby 😂 it’s been smooth so far but this has hit me pretty hard now 😂 agreed the lower back ache too is something else!

😂😂😂 I’m exactly the same, been a smooth run and thought this is easy then this has hit me hard and made me feel like I’ve aged 20 years 😂

Just wish it wasn’t so uncomfortable 😂😂😂

I've had the exact same pain for the last 3 weeks. I was referred to Physio and they told me I had pelvic girdle pain. They've given me a belt to wear under the bump which takes pressure of your pelvis. I didn't think it would work but it honestly has helped so much and I can tell the difference when I don't wear it. See if you can get your GP or midwife to refer you 😊

We’re nearly at the end guys 😅🙌🏼 xx

@Charlotte I’ll give them a ring in the morning and see what they say. Glad to hear something has worked for you 😅 I’m hoping it doesn’t get worse 😂

@Charlotte what does your belt look like? There are so many online!

@Megan this is what mine looks like from physio. It has a velcro strap at the front and then either side straps which are stretchy that you can alter throughout the day. It doesn't say what size it is though, my physio said I was between sizes so she gave me the bigger one as bump grows 😊

@Charlotte thanks for sharing. Looks similar to the one I got from Amazon so that’s reassuring. I feel like mine helps but wasn’t sure if i could have something even better as I’ve not been seen by physio yet. When I take the belt off, I feel like my pelvis is wobbly/unstable. Do you get that feeling? This is my second pregnancy and had this problem In my first but didn’t use a belt. Xx

@Charlotte that’s such a good way of describing it. In my first pregnancy I felt like I had a metal rod screwed into the left side of my groin/near my V. It’s mostly my left side again this time too.

@Megan I haven't had any wobbly feeling. I can tell when I take the belt off because the weight drops. Make sure you're taking care of yourself especially if your pelvis is feeling unstable. The majority of my pain is in my pubic bone, when I'm turning at night it feels like my pelvic bone is grinding. The belt is helping during the day which makes it easier at night. It's not the nicest thing to wear but if it helps with pain I'll keep wearing it. Xx Do you have an appointment booked with a physio?
