Breast-feeding/ engorged

I’ve been so engorged lately trying to find all of the right information on how not to overproduce milk and relieve this pain. There’s so much information out there. It’s easy to do the wrong thing. Luckily I’ve been speaking to a bunch of lactation consultants, Feeling a lot better today. Hopefully it’s only up from here! 🙌🏾 Who else is struggling with this problem?

I so wish I had the same problem! My last day of breast milk was today and preparing for engorgement!! Mine is due to underproducer (max 5-6oz/day) for 8w old. I was told by my Chiropractor to use cabbage- so I stopped and bought it. Also heard wrap 4" wide bandage wrap all around breasts/back to help. https://www.healthline.com/health/breastfeeding/cabbage-leaves#for-engorgement

Just wear sports bras! Use ibuprofen to help relive engorgement too

@Holly DO NOT BIND. It’s dangerous and not recommended by an MD. Leads to infection and little evidence it works, I actually find myself more engorged faster in tighter bras. Cabbage and Sudafed work fastest to dry yourself out. But it should be gradual. If you pump drop a pump every 2-3 days then add hours between the last pump. With Sudafed and low production it won’t take long to do it comfortably.

@Elena I am only prepping cabbage for it and I do have Sudafed but wasn't sure about it right off, I had seen it online before. Thanks for suggesting it!! The Dr I seen this week didn't think my underproduction needed any pumps at all, drop cold. I'll see how it is in next 2 days and will keep that in mind! TY
