Sleep

Do you wait for sleepy cues to put baby to nap/ bed or just go by a certain time/routine ?

Depends on the child and age, but I tend to follow a routine. However, some days, I follow his cues as it seems like right now he won't sleep twice a day only once. But if he sleeps only once, it will always be after his lunch.

Ahh ok I’m finding I follow a routine but now adays she’s increasingly difficult to get down, I’m wondering if she’s just not sleepy yet and I should wait for cues

Bed time is fairly set but nap times we follow cues. Still in between 1 and 2 naps depending on the day.

Bed time is generally around 7pm. She will shake her head if she's not ready to go up 😂 but she goes up around 7pm most nights. Day naps are between 1 and 2pm.

I’ve been waiting till I get sleepy cues today and it’s been much less of a fight to get her down for naps she’s on two atm She went down for second nap at 2 so bedtime could be at 7-730

He naps at 9 and 1 roughly every day but I follow his cues. Sometimes he’s tired a little before or after those times so I follow his lead and it’s always worked for us x

I wait for cues for naps. Bedtime usually sticks to around 7:30pm, but can move a bit either side depending on naps

@Yasmin and what time does your LO wake

A bit of both. My daughters wake time is approx 2.5 hours in the morning & then around 3 hours between morning/afternoon naps. Then around 3 - 4 hours between nap 2 & bedtime. That's by following both my daughters sleep queues & wake times. Granted nap 1 is usually around 8:30/9am, nap 2 is around 1/1:30pm & bedtime is around 6/6:30pm.

It's a difficult one....we try for 8pm bedtime but naps are all over the place atm. If he has 1 nap sleepy cues are usually happening around 8pm anyway. If he's had 2 naps I still take him up no later than 8.30 - I think routine definately helps with us no matter what - and he may take a bit longer to go down 🤷🏼‍♀️
