How do you put your toddler to bed?

Do you sit with them til they fall asleep? Leave them to fall asleep on their own, what exactly do you do? Feel like we’ve regressed he’s back to needing someone to sit with him til he falls asleep and if he wakes in the night I have to sit with him til he falls asleep?!

We still rub my sons back and stay with him until he falls asleep. We are slowly trying to phase it out but it’s so hard x

We still lay with our 3.5yo till she falls asleep and she wakes in the night and comes to our bed and sleeps with us. I don't see it changing soon but also number 2 is due in 3 months so some adjustments will need to be made!

I put my daughter to bed and give her book to look at the pictures. I leave her room's door open and light on in the corridor..she fell asleep by herself.

I still sit with my son until he falls asleep. Sometimes I reckon I could leave him and he’d fall asleep but to be honest, I love that bit of quiet and calm together before bed… I find it really helps me wind down too. I’ve never felt the need for him to put himself to sleep tbh, he’s only going to be this little for a short time, one day he’ll be begging me to leave him alone so I’ll take these moments while I can. As for night wakes, they’re rare but yeah, usually a case of figuring out what he needs and then sitting/laying with him until he drifts off which doesn’t usually take long x
