At 4 months they go through a real shitty sleep regression - I’m going through it now… my little boy is 5 months and for the last month he’s up 4-6 times a night! HARD
My girl just likes to be held while she sleeps so I’m starting with getting her to fall asleep for naps in the day without being held. Means a lot of time in the bedroom but it’s a good start!
There are plans out there to help with sleep at 4 months but I would wait until at least 6 where they most likely (spending on parents as each to their own) may have a set routine by then especially with naps. I “sleep trained” my first and plan to do so with my second around 6 months x
Yes, didn't work any other way with my daughter. When she is tired I put her down with a dummy and she either plays a bit or cries and usually goes to sleep afterwards by herself. And sometimes she needs me to come back to her to give the dummy again
We're reading precious little sleep by Alexis Dubief. Personally, for our LB, I think 4 months is still a bit young for certain methods, but we've tried some of the steps described in this book. All babies are different, but since trying out some of the gentle methods or steps in this book, our LB is now falling asleep in his own bed without too much help. He still wakes up 3 to 5 times a night needing comforting or a feed, but it feels like we're setting a good foundation for proper sleep training when he's a few months older. If it's actually needed. It has been pretty tough since he's been about 3 months, but he seems happier going to bed and being put down in his own bed since we started the process we've been following.
@Tanya I’m reading the book right now! Hope it helps me too 🥺 what exactly have you implemented from it? Hope your bb is well. X
We did this but at 8 months… 4 months is very small 🤔
