Anyone in a similar situation or has dealt with cysts?

I'm not sure if anyone has been through something similar or not? Basically I have had bloating for years but over the last few months I felt like it was much worse. I went to the GP and they did some blood tests. They called me to say that my CA125 Level was normal but in the higher range of normal. I googled this and I was absolutely terrified as a very high abnormal reading would be ovarian cancer. She said that as I was having bloating, she was still going to refer me for an ultrasound. However, it's worth adding that the level can be increased for all sorts of things including endometriosis, Fibroids.. even being on your period. I had my ultrasound today and he said that I had a cyst in my pelvis but other than that everything looked absolutely fine. He told me that he would recommend rescanning in 6/8 weeks to see if its gone as this could just be hormonal / period cyst. Or if its not gone he suspects possible endometriosis. Has anyone had anything similar? Does anyone have cysts and they go away? I'm not sure what to think and feel a bit stressed over it.

Are you pregnant right now? I only ask because my levels were also elevated and they said it was because of pregnancy, retested me a few weeks later and they were back in the normal range :)

@Alexandra oh! No I'm not pregnant but I was on my period when I had my blood test. I've googled it and it says that it spikes on your period so I'm hoping it's just that. It was still in normal range just on the highest part of normal x

I had a cyst on my right ovary after my first birth that prevented me from getting pregnant again for about 6/7 months but it seemed to go on its own. We kept trying and eventually fell pregnant again, during my first scan they confirmed the cyst was no longer there. They check now in some scans I have and it hasn’t seemed to come back. So try not to worry as Im sure it will Clear up on its own xx

@Kas Aw thank you Kas! Glad it cleared itself up. Hopefully mine was just a hormonal one or something and will go away.

I had a large ovarian cyst, was 20x30cm lol, I ended up getting it drained and removed by keyhole surgery. They only tend to do it if it’s over like 4cm (I think from memory) but before my scan they did say smaller ones will usually go away or not cause any issues :)

@Frayere OK thanks. I will wait and see what my GP says. The doctor I spoke to did the ultrasound so didn't say too much. He just said I had a cyst in my pelvis and will arrange a rescan in 6 to 8 weeks. But other than that everything looked absolutely fine. I left a bit confused and wished I had asked more.

Yes I went through pretty much the exact same thing as what you've described, but had other symptoms as well as bloating. I was recalled for a second scan due to a cyst and thickening of my womb lining. By the time I had the second scan it had all gone away. I was told my symptoms were likely due to endometriosis but can't be certain without laparoscopic surgery to diagnose. x

I’ve had cysts that disappeared and then one that stayed awhile (around 9cm), it was around for months and then throughout my pregnancy so I had keyhole to remove it 6-9months after I had my daughter via keyhole

Yep, mine went away within 2 months of using castor oil packs on my abdomen and I also used a red light therapy mat. They were pretty big, I had them after the hormonal muck of a miscarriage. I also highly recommend Elix tincture for hormonal balancing. Works like a charm, my periods were amazing afterwards.

@Suzie Thanks so much for sharing. I'm glad it went away for you and that you are all good now. Hopefully mine will be gone next time. I need to go back in 6-8 weeks. X

@Emily great advice. Thanks for sharing!

@Jess OK Thank you! I'm interested to know the size. He didn't say but maybe my GP will confirm when I speak to her.

I've had loads of ovarian cysts 😅 several when I was a teen/young adult that went away on their own. One huge one that burst and required surgery. I have one now that's been there since I was pregnant with my son (he's nearly 3) and I haven't had any issues with it. Most of the time they aren't problematic but if it's determined that it's causing you problems they should be able to drain/remove it. The surgery is totally not a big deal if you end up needing it.

@Jen thanks so much!
