Bump dropped?

Does anyone else think their bump has dropped? My bump is round at the top but more like flat at the bottom. Wondering if it could be to do with baby dropping even further and hopefully getting ready to engage!

mines the same and i was told by my midwife baby had engaged and head was down! hope this helps x

@Amelia Fuller i hope this is the case for me! She’s been head down since 27 weeks but never engaged so hoping she’s starting to now although I feel no pressure down below but I do get back ache and pelvic pain a lot. I have a growth scan Tuesday so hopefully they can tell me then if she’s engaged honestly my belly looks just so flat from the middle to the bottom of my bump! x

@Danielle fingers crossed for you but my belly is the same it’s very soft at the bottom and midwife just had a feel and told me that he’s head was engaged don’t know how they can tell x

@Amelia Fuller yes very like squishy! And I think they can feel the head move and sort of wobble if baby is not engaged that’s what I was told previously I’m hoping if she is engaged that she stays engaged she has me looking a fool doing these figures of 8 and all sorts on the pregnancy ball🤣x

i have not been on the pregnancy ball yet this is my second pregnancy and i’m feeling so much more pressure down there this time! my worst nightmare would be for him to turn back to back because my daughter was back to back and it’s so much harder to birth a back to back baby xx

@Amelia Fuller funnily enough I’m feeling no pressure but convinced she’s dropped as she was already so low. I have an anterior placenta and have heard it’s more common with this type of placenta to have a back to back baby so praying that isn’t the case as I’ve heard it’s harder to birth😩x

@Danielle i did not know this and your midwife will be able to check if baby is back to back if your feeling worried. Not to worry you but i was told she turned from back to back a little before having her but she turned back last min 😭x

@Amelia Fuller oh no! That would be my worst nightmare 😩 my baby is currently ROA cephalic last time I heard meaning she’s laying on her side facing the right side of my body but head down however she could’ve changed position if she has dropped now just hoping she doesn’t go back to back as I’m already dreading the pain of labour alone x

Sounds like baby’s back is facing your back if the bottom of your tummy that shape. When baby engages you get more space at the top of your bump, under your ribs

@Clare could it not be to do with my placenta or uterus?

@Clareit really doesn’t sound like her baby is back to back i would know as i have had my girl back to back x

@Amelia Fuller Ive also had personal experience and I’ve also palpated 1000s of pregnant women’s abdomens. From description alone, it definitely sounds back to back. When babies are back to back, the bottom of your tummy does feel flatter/dip in a bit in comparison to the top, because at the top the limbs are prominent and make it feel/look rounder.
