That’s great advice, thank you. Do you put the cot away in the day? I think that hasn’t helped as she’s seen it as “play!” I’m honestly not sure how much sleep either of us got last night, it was so bad! I’m overly worried about the other guests too, which probably doesn’t help! I did wonder if the travel cot wasn’t as comfy too?
Agree with @Henna, keep the routine the same and try to be really consistent. We take her Hatch light away with us, do the same routine before bed, etc etc. I’d say try to keep doing it as well, I know it’s hard if you’re worried about sleep, but the more you do it, the more flexible she’ll be. We’re away at the moment with my parents and she bunked in with us for two nights then my parents for two, and she’s been really good both times. Fingers crossed and I hope it gets better for you!
Hey! We have the same issue when we travel. He’s amazing at sleeping at home, in his own room. But he gets overexcited knowing we are in the same room. We are away on holiday just now, and have found that following the same routine helps. So usual bed time, sleep sack and lights out. The first 2 nights are the hardest, but then he soon gets the idea. At this age, they know if they scream loud enough they’ll get the attention haha. So I think sticking to what you would normally do at home helps enforce boundaries. We also bought a travel cot cover, that helps keep it dark in the cot and we can move around in the room without disturbing him too much. It’s still very much trial and error but it’s the only advice I have!
