Forceps delivery advice!

I had forceps delivery a couple of days ago and wonder how the after care should look? I’m in lots of pain in lower back and when I stand up I get a gush of blood. Unsure what is classed as too much blood. How much pain should I be in?

I had forceps 11 days ago and I get gushes too x

Did you tear or anything as this will have an impact on recovery too? I’ve had episiotomy with it x

Yeah episiotomy too. How much pain are you in? Xx

@Lauren first 4 days were quite bad and I was unable to sit down etc, I’ve not had much consistent bleeding if that make sense it’s as and when I stand up too quickly I get a gush. I had some issues as they thought they cut through my bladder as I couldn’t hold my wee in but that has gotten a lot better now. But pain wise now it’s none, I’d say it’s more uncomfortable than anything. Saving grace for me was lavender milk in my bath, 2 baths a day morning and night everyday since I came home xx

How far post partum are you now? I feel the same way it’s not holding wee. Once I’m stood up I feel like it’s coming straight out. Xx

Not a forceps birth but I did have a postpartum haemorrhage and so I have been keeping an eye on my bleeding - I've been told that it's a concern if you have to change your pad once an hour or more and also to keep an eye on blood clots - any bigger than a 50p are also a concern in terms of blood loss!

@Lauren 12 days lovely x

@Ronnie would you recommend a bath then? Xx

@Lauren yes! Lavender salts in it x
