So sweet and helpful! Thank you! We were also thinking about just jumping right in lol. Do you take him to the potty through the night too?
@Amanda of course! and no, we don’t wake him to go potty. some mornings he is actually dry, but I don’t see the point in me waking him because his body should eventually wake him on its own but he’s not there yet. sleeping uninterrupted>waking a sleeping 2 y/o who MIGHT have to go potty 🚽 that’s just been my experience though. my best friend her son even at four years old still occasionally has accidents in the night so I’m thinking of working on waking to go potty for when he’s about three or closer to 3
as a mom with a two-year-old in underwear and only wears diapers overnight keep doing what you’re doing. Let him get comfortable with sitting on the potty, etc.. You’ll know he’s ready when he starts taking off his own diaper after he goes to the bathroom or telling you when he needs a diaper change, etc. or that’s been at least how I knew with my son that he was ready. as to the how do we start question that’s always a hard one. My husband and I just jumped in and quit buying diapers. we only bought overnight diapers and really held everybody accountable by sending him to the potty every hour and not do the easy thing by just keeping the diaper on. obviously accidents are part of potty training and we have had many, but we also have saved so much money in diapers. It is definitely worth it. The transition can be a little tough, but you got this! sending you all my love and positive energy 🤍
