@Kayla the regressions are kind of what I’m worried about I have a lot of siblings lol the youngest are aged 1,3,4,5,8 & 10 and there was a lot of regressions quite a few of them were in and out of nappies a lot because of it. Not even just because of new babies tho the youngest 4 have a different mum and she knew she was pregnant the last 3 times because the currently 8 year old would start having accidents again and the currently 3 year old has been potty trained and out of nappies 3 times (her mums been pregnant twice but lost one since her)
My child never went back into nappies and she’s 3.5 year old now. So been out of nappies for over 18 months, I don’t even think she remembers wearing them. It was just a small disruption. I think it’s easier when they’re younger because they just go with it. A 3 year old is a lot more stubborn! Good luck making a decision. It’s certainly a tricky thing to plan.
I’d do it at least 3 months before you have your second child. It’s so much easier to do when only caring for 1 child. And they recommend no big changes 3 months before or after the baby is born, especially with potty training since it can cause regressions. I potty trained my eldest 4 months before I was due with my second baby. She was 22 months old and we used the 3 day method. She had gotten it by the end of the weekend, and then was really confident after a month. We had a small regression when the baby was born, but it sorted itself out pretty quickly.
