Potty training

My son doesn’t wear diapers anymore and does well with peeing in the potty but still keeps popping in his pants. What worked for getting your little ones to poop in the potty? 😅

Having the same problem! Hopefully someone has a helpful tip

sticker chart and toy prizes helped my daughter!! (i know 2 different genders but hopefully your son would like the concept) we made a chart, asking to go potty, going pee, going poop, washing hands, pulling pants up, etc. and for everything she did in the bathroom she would get a sticker:) if she got 5 stickers in a row she would get a present! she really liked this concept and was the only way we got her potty trained during the day. (we still have an overnight pullup on as she still pees in bed at night) but daytime and naptime she is always in underwear. i hope this helps!! good luck😊

I had to watch for the cues and pick my kids and run with her. But first I had to make her be bare but until she would poop in the toilet because she had a phase where she was terrified of popping in the toilet so she would refuse to poop for a day or so but after a couple days she got used to popping on the toilet but then watching for her ques and running with her was the only thing that got her to stop because she realized she has to use the potty regardless.

I started my son with potty training way too early, he wasn't ready, and it took us almost a year to have it down solid but... when it comes to pooping... as soon as he realized he COULD poop in the potty, he never went back to pooping in his pull-up. It could just be the way my son is... but in case it is helpful, here are a few things I was doing. 1) look for patterns to help you predict when the poop is coming 2) when you think it's getting close, ask him to sit on the potty for 3 minutes to see if any poop wants to come out. We bought him a fun timer and sat with him reading books. 3) when the poop did come, we talked about how cool/interesting the shape of his poop was, we let him carry his little potty insert to the big potty, say goodbye before flushing, and rubbed his tummy saying "wow! Your tummy must be feeling so good after getting that big poop out!" 4) we also talked about how the foods we eat come out in your poop, so we sometimes would name the poop based on the food we had eaten. Good luck!
