I’m going in tomorrow and was told that they monitor baby for a minimum 24 hours, so will be there at least one night but I’m fairly sure at our hospital they’re happy for you to stay for 2 if you want to. I was in 2 nights with my first (unplanned section) but she was born at 9.16pm. To be honest, I was desperate to get home after the 2nd night, so wouldn’t want to stay any longer unless necessary x
I stayed 1 night with a planned section last year. Baby arrived at 12:20pm and I was discharged at 4pm the next day. Hoping for the same this time, as my section is 23rd December and I don't want to be in hospital on Christmas day. And the aftercare was very poor last time. Meds taking 90+ mins to arrive. Not fed properly (dry toast a d stale sandwiches). No help with baby. It was pretty awful. Just want to get home again this time.
Minimum 24 hours and hoping it's exactly that!
I stayed 1 night last week, the ward was horrific. One woman kept the rest of us up snoring. The meds took forever and they had to keep certain lights on for safety. My baby was born 3:11pm Tuesday and I was home 5:30 pm Wednesday x
I stayed 5 nights after my first c section. Hoping for a Vbac this time though. They will keep you in depending on how your monitoring post section goes
I got 2 nights with baby 1 and it was perfect. Got to rest up, got good care, help with breastfeeding, went for a walk on the ward and showered a few times, left feeling supported and carrying a bag of meds. Baby 2 is coming this month same way and I’ve been told I can have the same time.
