Will his teeth be ok?

My 13 month old has 11 teeth. I brush them twice a day but literally only for a few seconds each time because that’s all I can manage with his fussing a wriggling!! (It’s honestly like WWE!! 🙈) Is this normal? Will his teeth be ok or will they rot? What should I be doing? What do you do?! Help!! 🤣

It's totally normal at this age can be a night mare, I'd just say try to lay off sugary things and juice. Also, try making it fun. Put a song on YouTube and give baby the brush even if he/she just bites on it and you try brush, but yeah, it's normal and a tough age for teeth brushing

It’s normal and definitely better than nothing. Fortunately these are baby teeth. It’s good to brush their teeth to form a good foundation, but honestly I don’t think it’s a huge deal if you were to only brush at bedtime for a couple mins because they’re little mean alligators lol. He’ll be okay!

I’m really starting to worry about this. My 15mo has 14 teeth. Sometimes we get a half decent brush but most of the time he just chews the toothbrush. I’d read over and over again that’s fine and the main thing is just to get some toothpaste in their mouth but his teeth are starting to yellow and he has some build up (maybe plaque?!) now 😭

My son was like this. To be honest I ended up stopping for about a month because I just couldn’t take it anymore. Then around 16 months he WANTED to brush his teeth. Granted, he didn’t want me to do it, he wanted to do it, but he’d brush them on his own for a good 5+ minutes and it looked like he was getting most of his teeth. Now at 19 months old he lets me do it for about 30-60 seconds at once, and the rest I let him do. He does really well with doing it solo. As far as I’ve seen/been told, the month without brushing didn’t cause an issue and he has healthy teeth Edit: we use kids fluoride toothpaste. I would recommend using fluoride toothpaste, especially for toddlers that don’t let you brush for long. You’re only supposed to use a rice-grain size amount, which is negligible to their health. I usually rub it into the brush with my finger before brushing too, so I know it sudsed up and it’s not just being swallowed without touching his teeth

I told my dentist that I could barely brush my daughter’s teeth for more than a few seconds and she congratulated me for just getting the brush in her mouth twice a day at that age. I think it’ll be fine! I try to attack her teeth from a different angle every day, cause the first couple seconds is usually the best brush before she clamps down on it. So the top left got the best clean tonight, tomorrow I’ll aim top right, etc etc 😂
