We didn't do nappies at all, just took plenty of spare clothes with us and a portable potty
Once the accidents started dropping we took away nappies altogether except for naps and bedtime. We put absorbent sheets in the car seat and took a carry potty. Then eventually she was dry during naps so we took that away. Our daughter has been dry at night since mid August so we finally stopped nappies about a month ago. We’ve kept a couple back just in case she has a bad spell of diarrhoea and we need to protect the bed at night but hopefully we won’t need to use them. We did have a week or so when she started having accidents and it was because she was waiting till too late to tell us she needed the toilet when she was really enjoying herself, like at the park.
@Nicola Thank you, that's really helpful. Did you used to keep your LO in nappies to go out at first? And if so, how long did it take for her to go to pants instead when venturing out? Thanks x
No nappies, carry pot for on the go and loads of spares.
When we were potty training the advice was if they’re out of nappies don’t put them back in as it confuses them. But to offer a toilet every 30 minutes even if the child doesn’t need it. I don’t know if this is correct, that was just the advice i found and it worked for us. Good luck! We carried a lot of spare clothes and a potty and started potty training in the middle of freezing cold January which probably wasn’t the best idea but actually our daughter did pretty well. Some people wait until the summer months.
I dropped nappies all together, I did buy some of those training pants just incase which catch teeny accidents
