Potty training - regression?

So our little one has been kinda potty trained since August, for a few months he seemed to be doing well with the occasional accident one a week or so. But recently he seems to have 2 or 3 accidents a day. I just can't figure out why, it's so random sometimes while play. Others he knows he wants a wee but just doesn't attempt to go to the toilet. Recently we travelled to my mums about 4 hrs away, put a nappy on him for the journey. He didn't didn't wee in it even though he said he needed a wee. So he can hold it... confused. Anyone experienced this?

Has he had a cold or been under the weather? Oliver has been fully trained during the day since half way through Nov but odd accidents recently as been under the weather. It's totally normal for this to happen though , just got to keep doing what you're doing. Consistency and gentle reminders. We haven't done a really long journey yet but going to try avoid pull ups and just make sure he goes before get in car and stop more regular xx

He has a constant runny nose but other than that he has been fine. Had a chat with the nursery they said its common apparently and they are not worried.

Hopefully he gets the hang of soon enough

Aww he will , don't worry x

It may be because he's so engrossed in play that he.cant take himself away from playing to go toilet. I potty trained my daughter about 2 months before she was 3 and preschool said she only had accidents when she was too focused on a play task. It took roughly 2-3 weeks and now 5 months on she's dry day and night.
