Does teething make anyone else’s LO gag/retch?

My LG only has 4 teeth so don’t have much experience with teething still. She was awake around 4am gagging and retching but just kept bringing up clear liquid and my partner has messaged to say she’s just done it again. Checked her gums and we can feel 2 teeth on both sides coming through so wondering if this is a normal response to that? Has anyone else had this? I keep thinking she’s about to throw up then nothing 🤔.

Yes, doctor told us it's because of the excess saliva created when teething. They sometimes struggle to swallow it so can make them gag/choke a little bit.

@Rebecca ah thank you so much. That’s reassuring to know what it is. I was split between worrying something was wrong and praying for it to please not be another sickness bug!

@Leanne it could well be a bug starting as well, there's so much going round at the moment! But if no other symptoms and you can feel the teeth it's likely that!

@Rebecca you’re right there. Feel like I’m in mission impossible trying to dodge them all for Christmas 😖 as though December wasn’t stressful enough!

@Leanne I feel you! We’re currently housebound with chicken pox! Really needed him in nursery this week too so I could get Christmas stuff done 🥲
