Mine was so very worth it. Id definitely recommend getting a debrief. In fact I think it helped that I had time to process it first
I'm already in therapy for other issues buy I'm not sure if I can do 2 lots of therapy at the same time or if this place will do birth trauma too. I also don't know how much a debrief would help when I already have all the answers they would give me 😕
The NHs birth reflections isn’t a therapy session as such, they’ll just sit and go through note by note with you and all the events. But if you’re happy you understand what happened and you don’t have any questions then it probably may not be useful as such x
I didn’t even get offered anything until I got pregnant again, I did it 4 years after the fact and found it helpful! X
As long as you're sure you know the answers... I thought I knew mine and there was actually a few things which were not communicated to me which changed everything
@Jamie I know answers that they don't even know the answers to 🙃 I told them at my booking appointment that I was increased risk of haemorrhage etc and they told me I was wrong and over dramatic...guess who nearly died though 😃 all the other stuff is simple and easy to process like her cord being heavily tangled, meconium, the severe dehydration and stuff. Our only real query is why I didn't get a blood transfusion straight away but I was asymptomatic so they pumped me full of fluids instead. I'm more convinced it's a byproduct of my anxiety that answers won't be able to fix 😕
I’d ask for a debrief or if you don’t think that would be helpful, some counselling? X
