No birthing partner

I have been told my partner won't be able to be at the birth due to him having a bug (I'm being induced tonight) Is anybody else in a similar situation or have gone through labour on their own without a birthing partner? I feel quite scared, especially if I needed an emergency c section and I don't have a birthing partner to look after baby until I come around. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you x

Deep breaths! Can he be there on FaceTime with you?

Can you not have a family member there instead or a friend? x

@Rebecca I don't have friends really due to moving cities and only family members I have are my brothers 😂 x

You could absolutely ask a brother to be with you if you wanted. Induction may take some time as well so maybe your partner will be able to come towards the end of your labour? Even if you do this yourself, you’ve absolutely got this and the midwives will be fab I’m sure. Good luck xxx

My partner was around during the labour. He then had to go out for half an hour and baby was delivered without him being there. You will be fine, the midwives were great but couldn’t offer the emotional / physical support I required due to them being busy trying to get the baby out. My second birth partner was my mum but she had the flu so I had to troop it out alone really - I was okay
