Working Out as a Mom: Need Advice! 🤔👶

“I really wish gyms offered babysitting facilities. It can be so embarrassing when my little one starts crying 😭, but I can’t work out at home either 🏠. Does anyone here take their kids to the gym? 🤔 Or am I approaching this all wrong? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Same girl I feel you. I book a monthly gym membership 2 weeks ago and the plan is to leave baby with dad and her sister but she wouldn’t let me go cos she wants just me. No one can soothe her. I had to cancel my membership😩

A YMCA has a faculty for your child to go while you work out, take a class, etc

Ikr, I’m just taking her.

I completely agree with that . They should offer child care

I went with my baby to the gym, but 30min was the max for him… So when he napped I was doing exercises at home (booty exercises with leg weights and elastic, with the Mary Braun YT videos) and then when he was awake I was doing my 30min in the gym , then it felt like it was a good session ! (Have the gym in my building luckily) But at 5months he started crawling… and since then it’s impossible, too dangerous.. So I just do workout at home for the moment :(

@Anyssa I will definitely check it out, thank you!

Some gyms offer crèches! They’re far and few between but some do🙂

In the UK some gyms have mama and baby times so everyone is in the same situation and they even have playmat’s for pre crawling age

I go to the gym with my 11 month old. I take her stroller and keep her next to me. She takes her Pacifier and a toy to keep her busy. She also likes staring at everyone else working out. I haven't had her start crying before.

@Sabrina where do you go to the gym

@Kavonnah I go to an independently owned gym in the town I live in.

I’m pretty sure golds gym has child care. YMCA too and Lifetime do for sure.

The YMCA is awesome. But I don’t live near one anymore:( they’re all 30min from me. There are some gyms with daycares in them.

The gym i go to has baby sitting bring my baby there a couple times a week

I didn’t even know you could take a baby to the gym like that

Most gyms will not let you do that. YMCA has amazing childcare and offers a sliding scale rate so it’s accessible for a variety income levels.

It can never hurt to ask a gym if you can take your child with you. You never know unless you ask. That's part of why I didn't go to the gym for the first 10 months of her life. I didn't think I could take her with me.

I’ve never seen a gym allow that. We go to In Shape and they have childcare. We just pay for an additional membership for our son and it covers his childcare. I feel like there are probably gyms somewhere in Florida that offer childcare? There used to be a lot more that offered childcare before Covid but there are a few options in my area.

Eos fitness offers daycare for 2-11 i think but i need one for new borns😭😭
