Sweep

Got my first sweep today. Was 1-2cm dilated but doesn’t seem to have done anything. Have had on & off twinges in my back but don’t think it’s labour. What are some things I can do to help induce labour or what worked for you guys ?

miles circuit is supposed to be great, and it is quite easy to do. can definitely be uncomfortable but you don’t need anything special to do it xx

yoga ball! hips in circles, back & forth & bouncing- sit in the ball instead of the sofa or a chair, minimum 30mins at a time. Walking, again minimum 30mins a go. Sex is meant to help soften the cervix (when i say sex i mean sperm), they say the same way you got pregnant is the same way to help get baby moving.

Nothing works unless your body and baby is ready anyway… sincerely a mum who tried absolutely every trick in the book and baby still came on her own terms 10 days late 😂

Personally I did squats and lunges when I was 39+3 and my water ruptured at 6:30 the next morning. (My body was ready but baby wasn’t) I would be really careful about inducing labor in a non medical fashion though. Anything could go wrong. Just be sure you have someone with you just in case you can’t get to the hospital on your own.

In my experience, babies come when they're ready, so it doesn't matter what you do. I had 2 sweeps with all of mine and they were all still late!

Nothing helped for me first time, I had 3 sweeps. Second time my labour came on after my first sweep
