Keep moving and keep on top of painkillers!

I’m day 3. Yesterday was a low day for me. My pain was so significant that I couldn’t see a way out. I couldn’t walk to the toilet and was on opiates as often as I was allowed them. We realised my tummy was rock hard and full air which is typical after being opened and sewn up quickly. Air from the room just gets trapped inside you! I’ve nailed the peppermint water and tea and took a laxative and it’s just night and day difference this morning. I can move around and stand up straight. Definitely need pain killers stuff but I can do enough to I can see a light at the end of the tunnel ☺️☺️

Like others said stay on top off whatever painkillers you choose, even when you feel better take them for a few more days. Move regularly but not too far at first but also make sure you have everything you might need within easy reach like water, painkillers anything for changing and feeding baby, phone charger etc. Not being able to get things quickly was quite stressful! Also the Friday mom boyshort disposable pants have been great so comfort and ease as well and fit a big pad in. Definitely take a laxative even if you don't think you need it at first. Have lots of pillowd and possible something to help you sit up from the bed, my friend recommended tying the belt off a robe to the foot of the bed to use or if you have something solid you can put down next to you! Good luck, it's hard but gets better quickly 😘

Peppermint oil capsules and tea to help with the trapped wind, silicone based scar dressings

Arnica! I swear by it, really helped me

@Hannah Are the silicone based scar dressings any good? where is it they’re from?x

@Katie is this for the healing of the wound?x

@Hannah I’m on day 5 and i just feel like im going down rather than up, doesn’t feel like im getting any better. Probably doesn’t help that me n baby are still in hospital for antibiotics so it is making me struggle to see the light! i might give the peppermint water and tea a try!clx

I’m day 16 and just finishing antibiotics as ended up with an infection. What I would recommend is rest as much as you can. I didn’t and I think this could of been part of the reason I got an infection. Also don’t go on long walks as you’ll regret it… x

Pain relief regularly, even if you feel fairly comfortable - take it. It’s easier to keep it under control than get it back under control. Let your standards slip around the house a bit, don’t do too much to soon, especially on the first day you feel a bit more yourself. Potter about, but nothing strenuous! And peppermint tea to help with wind pain after!
