Bad anxiety

My little January baby made an early appearance and arrived 16th December. Ever since he’s been born my anxiety has shot through the roof about SIDS. I literally make myself feel physically sick before bed, I’m up all night checking he’s breathing & I get really upset panicking about it. Please tell me I’m not the only one. He did have to be resuscitated not long after birth & I think seeing what he looked like during that moment has literally traumatised me 😩 does anyone use a sids machine during the night, my midwife thinks it maybe worth me getting one just to help calm me down?

My baby isn’t here yet but I have the Snuzahero as I know I’ll be the same. I got mine 2nd hand from vinted and it works fine! There are loads on there as people only use them for the first couple of months. It’s recommended by the lullaby trust too x

My little on was born not breathing and had to be resuscitated and spend my awhile in the nicu, I bought the owlet dream sock off vinted I know there expensive but it has really helped settle my nerves xxx

@Hayley I was just looking at this one, I was looking at another one too but it was over £100 more. I think I might get one today because my anxiety is so so bad at the minute with it and I’m only 3 days in 🥲 is this the brand they recommend or just them on a whole? X

Please look into getting a nanny mat. I was exactly the same, worried sick I’d wake and she would be gone. The nanny mat has really saved my sanity! I can send you a link if you’d like one? X

@Rebecca this was another one I was looking at, they are expensive but I’m only 3 days in and feel like it’s gonna make me seriously ill the amount I’m worrying over it so I’m at the point I’ll pay anything haha xx

@Angharad yes please! Xx

I got mine of vinted for £120 but seeing everything my little one went through and emergency c section I wasn’t sleeping when came home so I asked for money or people for Xmas instead and used that only had it over a week and my nerves are settled right down xx

@Danielle it’s been a god send! Although forgetting to switch it off when you’re super tired and panicking when the alarm goes off when you’re actually holding baby is real 😂 I can laugh now obviously but at the time not so funny 🙈

Another vote for the snuza hero, I got mine on vinted brand new for £35 xx

I was the exact same. I didn't sleep until he was about 5months as constantly needed to check he was breathing. I would just about drift off then would think check him one last time, then again and again. If I fell asleep would wake up in a panic. I purchased the owlet but it false alarmed twice and it freaked me out so returned it. I wasn't sleeping anyway so wasn't really doing much for me. Eventually once my baby was more sturdy, lifting his head and rolling etc I calmed down. I still get nightmares though. They are so precious to us we can't help but worry I guess x

We got given the snuzzahero after our prem fell ill as a newborn. The nhs provided it for us so I think it’s recommended. Was brilliant!
