How to stop C-Section scar getting gross, smelly & red?

I’m a year PP and my scar is always getting red, sticky, smelly and just generally gross. It goes away when I put cream I got from the doctor on it but is there anyway to stop this from happening completely?

It might have an infection, I would go back to the GP to see if it is. If it isn’t, maybe after the shower or bath when patting dry also dry with a hairdryer and lift up (if you have a tummy pouch like me) for 10 mins. Game changer. Xx

If you have a skin fold like I do... you make sure you clean it frequently and I spray an anti fungal prevention (foot or jock spray) under to prevent moisture underneath

9 month pp and I’ve tried everything, resorted to just running the shower over it whenever it starts to feel uncomfortable x

@Maya oh bless you. Defo try and keep it dry if you can that would avoid the smell and possible infection xx try the hairdryer xx

I've had 4C sections and I'm a bigger girl, so I have a flap or fupa, and in order for me to keep down the. Redness, the itchiness or any infection. I usually wash is normal when I take a shower and I take a wash. RAG and I fold it in half, and I leave it under my flap. I'll leave it there all day long, actually? Of course, I put on medication if needed, I try to keep the medication dry. Not an ointment so that I'm not adding to the moisture down there. And I redo the same thing over and over again.
