Unfortunately it is hormonal so there isn’t a lot you can do. My hair loss was horrendous from 4 months post partum, now 11 months post partum and I have SO many baby hairs coming, so it will come back. Biotin may help, as well as multi vits, and rosemary oil scalp massage, but mostly just have to wait it out
I am 2 and a half years post partum & my hair is still falling out 🫤
@Gem resume taking prenatal vitamins, like folic acid as you don’t need to be pregnant to take it. Also prenatal vitamins in general is good for hair and nails. Also I found rosemary oil really helped me.
I took aloooot of vitamins, collagen peptides. Make sure you still take folic acid as usually it’s down really low after birth. Iron pills as well and vitamin d. Hair loss is still going to happen, but it’s less worse if you address any deficiencies. Also, it’s common for products you’ve used in the pass to suddenly not work for you as the hair changes with all the hormones. I got really bad hair loss and one year in, I finally have brow length hair regrowth around my temples. Oh and water!
@Xiomara E. Yes I’m taking, folic acid, iron tablets and vitamin D tablets. I’m also giving my LO 4 months old vitamin D drops
There’s not much you can do, it’s just your hormones. Month 4 is the worst for it, my wee girl is 17 months now and I’ve got lots of regrowth. I’ve been using OGX Biotin and Collagen shampoo and conditioner to try and help strengthen it.
My dermatologist recommended shampoo & conditioner that are safe to be used while nursing or pregnant Ducray Anaphase... I've noticed that once the hair loss started, 4th month pp, it was initially a lot that lasted about a month, and it tapered off ... while I still have hair loss, it's not nearly as much (I wash my hair about once a week)
You can’t stop it unfortunately as it’s caused by the shift in hormones directly after the birth. It takes 3/4 months for the hair to then fall out due to the hair cycle. It usually stops after 3 months, if it doesn’t I’d get iron levels checked as this can be a cause of hair loss too.
