I’m going to have this done when I have my second child in March. My doctor said it’s very simple when already doing a C-section and only adds a few minutes to the procedure and shouldn’t really impact recovery. I’m having my tubes removed - I believe that’s standard practice now. It also lowers your risk of ovarian cancer.
I’ve just had this done 4 weeks ago and was absolutely fine no side affects x
I’ve had it done twice now during my last two c-sections. The first time my tubes grew back together. They removed them the second time. I believe it’s safe. What side effects are you referring to?
It’s very common to get your tubes tied during a c section if you don’t want anymore kids. It makes it so much easier since you’re already open. It kills 2 birds with one stone basically. I’d say give yourself and extra week or 2 after the common recommendation (6 weeks) so I’d rest for 8-9 weeks if possible.
@GMF @Phoebe wow it helps knowing that!! Thanks so much !!
@Melissa like dizziness or weak or bad periods… I don’t know just a thought. Wow can’t believe they grew back together !!!
I had my tubes cut 8 weeks ago during c section. Recovery wasn't any longer. My c section was actually such a quicker recovery to my first. I was out and about within a few days.
No side effects for me personally. My period changed after each pregnancy/birth it’s hard to blame it on a tubal ligation unless that’s the only procedure you’re getting done. Yeahhhhh, the only reason I knew they grew back together was because I got pregnant 15 months later. 🙃
Yes. Its common to have tubes tied during c section. The risk of failure is lower.
