i was thinking about this too.. i have no idea what to do 😓
my birth plan is give birth in hospital but refuse all interventions as long as me and baby are stable. Intermittent monitoring, labor in tub. I’m planning on eating snacks I’ll bring my own. I am doing either hopefully all natural or if stuff goes badly I’ll be there in hospital for emergency c section. Unless something comes up at a prior appointment and baby is breech cannot be turned and can’t deliver breech which is still sometimes possible to deliver breech anyways. If there is a really good reason that’s the only way I would do a planned C-section. I will still try natural birth even if my baby is up to 10 pounds I think
You can download ACOG's birth plan template. I said I'd avoid any medical interventions unless necessary
I just did the birth plan that was given to me by my hospital and it went in depth with the different options they have to help prevent pain and keep me comfortable
The hospital im delivering at had a great birth plan to fill out! It asked me questions i haddnt even thought of putting in my plan but im glad i did. I found an online copy and they gave us a paper copy at the hospital tour just in case. Check your hospital or delivery centers website!
There are lots of templates online. But things you should include? If you’re ok with students/residents/interns in the room and/or be able to check you. Preference of pain management if you want any or not. If you’re ok with an episiotomy. Delayed cord clamping? What baby care you are ok with. My plan includes that we(parents) will decide when to bathe baby, no pacifier and as long as baby is ok, baby is staying in room with me.
I will fully admit mine is literally just “don’t die” 🤐🫣 every time i try to make a real one….i fail
