We're the opposite, my son will have almost all wees on the toilet but refuses to have a poo on there🤦♀️😂 for wees I started with before and after every sleep and meal then added more throughout the day now he shouts at me when he wants help to get on the toilet😂 x
How’re we all starting? My oldest has needs so she’s still in nappies at 4. My twins are 18 months and I couldn’t imagine trying the potty with them and wouldn’t even know how to tell if they’re ready 😅😅
@Courtney my eldest is 4.5 and still in nappies due to needs too, it's been a shock starting so early with my youngest but he was more than ready😂 I started just sitting him on the toilet before his bath each night then before naps too, it wasn't long until he was weeing on there and asking me to go. The ERIC website has loads of tips but you'll know when it's time x
@Georgia I do think one of my twins is quite developmentally forward (has a great understanding, says a couple of words out of context) so he might understand the concept of the potty, but his brother I don’t think is there. I’ll definitely buy a potty and see how they feel on it as I really didn’t know we could start introducing it this early 💛
@Courtney I went straight to a seat on the toilet so mine had already seen me on there enough times (no personal space in this house🤦♀️😂) my youngest is still only babbling and probably autistic too but he knew what to do straight away whereas my eldest still won't even sit on a potty or toilet. He asks me to go by hitting his bum shouting "p, p, p" which I'm guessing is either potty or poo😂 x
My daughter has so many words and puts about 3 together so she can ask for potty or poo poo and if she does one on the floor she will come and get me and say “uh oh mummy poo poo” she would tell me if she did a poo in the nappy, and when I would go to the toilet she would cheer me on. I started sitting her on it before a bath and she started doing wees and poos and she would know when she did it so gone from there really
Sorry I haven’t gotten any advice however I’d love some advice myself!🤦🏽♀️ I got my sons potty ready and I just don’t know how to start! He usually always poos at the same time of day until recently when he caught RSV.. now everything is unpredictable.
