Anyone else feeling like they can't get the hang of things?

Baby is now nearly 3 weeks old and still feeling like I have no idea what I'm doing. He's had a few tummy issues which starting to get over but just keeps randomly screeching. Run through the checklist of hungry, gas, nappy and cuddles/play but it never seems like I'm able to do enough to make him happy 😔 just when I feel like I've figured it out a bit more we end up taking about 4 steps back. Does it ever feel like you finally get the hang of it?

Yes. You'll get through it. It's a big change for the both of you. You'll get there. You're doing an amazing job. Just keep going. Xx

It’s so so rough sometimes isn’t it. Every time we think we’ve got a bit of a rhythm going, something changes slightly. The main thing that’s helped us so far is a bit of tracking (main activities only) so we can see how they impact each other and then adjust order of things if needed x

Are you breastfeeding? My daughter had a sore tummy from the moment she came home - constantly pulling her legs in and pretty much crying unless sleeping. It took us about 6 months to figure out that she was intolerant to dairy, eggs, nuts and lentils and was reacting to what I had eaten as it was coming through my milk. Cows milk protein allergy is super common and may be an issue if formula feeding too .. worth considering elimination and reintroduction to see if it helps. My daughter was like a different baby overnight when I eliminated milk and egg from my diet - it’s super hard but I’m sure you’re doing a great job!

@Lucy I'm formula feeding we tried breastfeeding but it upset his system even more. The GP has looked at him and doesn't think it's anything just a sluggish digestive system which will get better as he gets older. She prescribed a very mild laxative yesterday which helped get things moving again so he is doing better.

Yes, it did with my first. I didn't start feeling a bit better after 8wk, then 3mo, then 8mo. It gets easier than it starts to go backwards a bit. It's weird but normal
