Naturally induce labour

Hey girlies any tips on naturally inducing my labour ? I’ve been told I need an induction due to the size of my baby just after Christmas ( he’s 8lb 1oz at 37 weeks ) so want to try everything to make it easier / come on naturally 😂 thanks x

Only thing that has medical evidence behind it is having sex. The hormones they use to induce are the same that is in semen.

I'm in the same boat I'm booked in for the 6th of January but cos I'm pregnancy dibeates I want to try n get him out with out use of induction

I keep trying that but as of yet it has not worked 😂😂

@Steph how many times

@Lizzy I’m due on the 7th but there waiting for my diabetes test to come back before they decide how I can deliver 😂 last time they were leaning towards a c section to be safe ☹️

Go for a long walk. Preferably uneven! Just bounce on your ball too when you’re indoors x

As much as you can… there’s no set number or even saying that it will work, but the idea is that the semen softens the cervix I believe.

I had c section with my first son n didn't feel like i actually gave birth so I'm really hoping i don't have to

I was induced with both of my ‘giant’ babies. Neither was a great experience. My second ended up an an emergency c-section and I really wished I’d just gone straight to the c-section each time.

I had my scan at 36 weeks and he was 8lb 1 they decided to induce me 38 weeks this Monday! I’ve had sweep 1 done at 37.3 and second one today 37.5 went from fingertip to 1cm but no sign of labour. I’m going ahead with the induction on Monday realised labour only comes when it wants I wouldn’t even bother trying everything I’m knackered and nothing worked 😂 should of just lay down and slept for the week! Which I’m now doing as I’ve given up! Haha xx

I tried everything and my boy came when he wanted. He was 11 days late. I also had gestational diabetes. I had 2 sweeps, long walk, clary sage, reflexology, acupuncture, miles circuit, bounced on the ball, ate curry and all the other stuff lol. They come when they want, not when u want. My top tip is rest, I wish I'd rested more as labour is long and exhausting. I would says if u do get induced and need the hormone drip take the epidural and don't be brave like I did. Enjoy Christmas xxxx
