@Kaylee is it better to give formula I don’t want her to stop eating. I don’t breastfeed only pump and bottle she won’t latch. I also notice that only one nipple is kinda pink the other one looks normal
I'm exactly the same, only one nipple is affected. The other is 100%. You can give her the milk you pump on the same day now, and when you're being treated you'll both be at the same stage of treatment. As long as your not pumping and putting it in the freezer to use when your thrush free. You can temporarily use formula if you'd feel better and then pump and dump so your supply remains up but you shouldn't need too.
@Kaylee we usually use the milk either a day or two I don’t freeze any. I still don’t know if we have it till Monday but I am freaking out and a little upset when they gave me the medication it didn’t mention that you can get nipple thrust easy.
I currently have nipple thrush and baby has oral thrush due to antibiotics for infected c section wound. Nipple was sore but zero other symptoms. We waited 4 days for swab to come back but baby stopped feeding by then and treatment was a day late. 5 days into treatment and we both are worse than to begin with. Change bras regularly, breast pads ect. Use a boiling wash for bras. Don't sterilise dummies but use hot water and soap as sterilising removes good bacteria that keeps yeast at bay. Carry on breastfeeding if you can, if you can't pump to keep your supply up. Don't use the milk you pump after you've started treatment as it can reinfect. Nipple Shield's might help but disinfect after every use.
