Do you offer baby both breasts during a feed?

I’m so confused, my LG is almost 5 months and EBF since she was 2 months old. I only ever offered her one breast and let her empty that out as that was what I was told. Recently, the health visitor told me I should be offering the other breast too. Really conflicting advice, she is putting on weight/nappies are fine but don’t want to under feed her obviously. Please share what you do and any advice is welcome.

I normally alternate every feed. If she is still hungry I will feed off of both.

We alternate every feed. It's not often she wants/needs both.

I feed one breast each feed then alternate to other breast on the next feed. If he was showing signs of being hungry or unsettled I would offer other side too but he always seems satisfied.

I feed with one, then next feed the other breast. As then it's had time to fill up

You do what’s best for you, there’s no rules. I offer both and sometimes he will have prolonged feeds on both and sometimes it’s 30 seconds and he’s done. He’s 12 months old

I offer one breast per feed, he’s a healthy boy so it’s worked for us. There’s so much conflicting advice out there, I was told the same to offer one and it’s worked for us :)

I was told by my midwife one breast but more and more recently she's wanted both so I offer both most feeds sometimes she won't need/want it

Thank you all, that’s really helpful

We started off alternating then as he got old I stated offer both not sure when

@Ashlyn same as this. Very rarely will my baby want both. She’s 6 weeks

I’ve been told to feed off one and alternate after each feed because it allows baby to get to the creamy milk. Having said this if he’s fussing on one I’ll offer the other x
