Would my baby know? (Sleeping out)

I want to suggest to my partner that he has a night out with friends over Xmas (he’s asked the same for me but I don’t want to just yet and baby is EBF). He will only be at the bottom of the road at the local pub so if I needed him he’s not far at all but I know he won’t enjoy himself worrying if I’m okay with the baby, etc. I’m happy to sleep over my parents for the night as it would also be nice for them to have some quality time with the baby as they live an hour away but I’m worried the baby (currently 5 weeks) will know there’s a change and won’t settle. I would obviously take down all her comforts, sleep space etc but do I run the risk of her not settling? Would she know?

My little one is 5 weeks and we’re currently away at our cabin for Christmas and we’ve had no issues. We’ve brought all his usual comforts and been strict with our usual routine. I’ll be honest having my family around to chip in so I can catch up on sleep has been amazing! 😂 hope this helps xx

To put a difference perspective on this, we had twins and one of our twins spent 6 weeks in NICU. We spent those 6 weeks going between home, the accommodation at the hospital and my parents. Our healthy twin was with us throughout and literally had no clue where we were. You are your babies safe place and they’ll be happy as long as they’ve got mumma (and your boobs! 😂). Have a lovely time with your parents and hope your partner enjoys his night x

I wouldn’t worry, they’re too little to know the difference x
