Early hours wake windows

My 9 week old keeps having an actual wake window that lasts up to about 90 mins at 1/2am 🫠 We do all of the suggested things such as not interacting with her during her bottle, keeping room dark, white noise etc Is anyone else experiencing this? How do I help it, it's draining me 😅

This is known as a "split night" and in older babies is usually caused by too much day sleep. How many hours is she sleeping in the day?

@Tanya 3/4 hours maximum in the day, she doesn't nap that much considering her age she's very hard to get to sleep x

We’re up for about an hour through the night. I go downstairs, minimal lights on, change nappy, feed and she normally lays and kicks for a little. I watch tv and have a cuppa. But before that she sleeps 6 hours and I normally get another 3/4 once we’ve been awake. I’ve found swaddling helps her have longer stretches and we always bath before bed for routine and so she can associate it with sleeping, I did with my first born too and he slept through from 12 weeks x

@Steph yeah doesn't sound like too much day sleep. If you look up split nights there are other causes so you might find out what it is, or could just be a newborn thing. Do you change nappies at each wake as I started to find if I did it at his second wake around 4-5am then he would be up for a long time? So I only change at his first wake now at 1-2am.

@Tanya hey, I only change before 4/5 if she has a dirty nappy. Thank you, we are currently going down the cmpa/reflux route so this might be playing a factor in it also. X

@Ellie thank you! We do pretty much the same, apart from I do the change/ feed/ kick about upstairs then when she starts yawning I swaddle and try to get her back down, it just doesn't seem to be happening at the moment. I've just started bath before bed, fingers crossed things improve soon x

@Steph we do bath every night, it’s tedious but works for us x
