Self settling

Does anyone’s baby still not self settle? My boy is 8 months old and we cosleep. He started waking every 30mins to an hour at night . I presume he can’t link his sleep cycles. I’m not sure if this is a phase or if this is him now… I can’t really cope like this … but also I can’t do any form of crying it out as it just breaks my heart! I’ve tried the Ferber (altered) Any advice?

Have you tried the pick up put down method. Personally I haven't got the patience for it but I allow my baby to cry it out method which she'll be asleep within 10 minutes. However she is still up every 3 ish hours so looking for a better method to help her but pick up put down is highly recommended

I tried it for a one night and was in the room over 30 times… hahaha maybe I need to try it again!

We don't self settle either. We feed to sleep or rock to sleep or she will settle no bother if she is on her side facing me in my bed. Every 30 mins sounds rough. I have heard the pick up/put down method does work but it's very tiring for the first few nights as most mums feel like it's not working until it does for the ones who can stick it out. I've not really tried it as I just rush in to try and settle asap so we can get as much sleep as possible at all times.

@Vicky yeah I’m not sure why he’s changed! He use to go a good few hours before waking and needing to be fed to sleep again… I’ve stopped feeding to sleep in the hopes that might help and this is just an 8 month sleep regression…

My 6 year old was like this, she still can’t self settle very well but generally sleeps through in her own bed and has since about 3. My second and third are just more chill and they can settle themselves
