Dropping all naps?

Has anyone else’s little one dropped their nap in the day completely yet? My little boy is 19 months old (20 months on 01/01/2024) and he still has a nap after lunch time at the moment but yesterday and the day before he didn’t nap (we had family over and he just didn’t want to) and he went to sleep instantly at bedtime 6:30pm with no fuss and slept just over 12hrs both nights! Today he had his normal nap and he is fighting bedtime and so unhappy and screaming! When he does have a nap I’ve noticed he sleeps for less time at night. Sometimes doesn’t go down until 8:30 and then up at 5-6am!! I don’t know whether I should drop his nap or not anyone else going through this?

My girl varies (same age as your little one). Some days she’ll have them some days she won’t xx

My son still naps every day, but had a few times when he’s missed it due to being out and has coped fine. Still offer him naps though as it doesn’t affect his night time sleep and he asks to go to bed when it’s nap time 😂 x

I can't live without the nap, the day would be too long😭 sometimes my baby goes down before or just after lunch, waking by 2.30 to 3pm and definitely in bed between 7 and 8pm when he's tired, when not saw it's a nightmare as you can't make it happen, but saying that on a good day there's lots for him to do in the day and we go for walks everyday to tire him out, seems to work for now and he wakes at 6.20am most days oddly and I'm adjusting to it now, I think if adding all the sleep time should be just over 12 to 14hours daily either way for their age😴.

@Michelle I feel the same. The idea of no nap terrifies me because I wouldn’t know how to entertain him for that long with no break! But then the idea of an easier bedtime without the screaming and fighting sleep sounds so good! Xx

We have various we try to keep to schedule but really she fights so we just sometimes have to go with her She is exhausted and looks like she needs one but will fight until she cries an cries - clearly needs sleep! Even night times are hard as when she naps it’s again fighting for a good 2 hours
