@Miranda it’s a nightmare isn’t it. Especially the bigger they are getting xx
Yes definitely.. I understand her as I think our bed is way more comfy than the cot and she must be used to having us nearby, but at the same time I kinda want our bed back!
I waited for a sleep regression and introduced the cot. I don't believe in choosing a random day to bring big changes. I go with the baby development. My little boy moved in his room and cot at the 10 month regression. There should be another regression soon if you want to try. I placed a mattress/pillow near to the cot so I could held my boy's hands and tap him until he fell asleep. I never took him out to the cot and placed him on my bed. If he was getting very upset, I would rock him and place him back in the cot. At the beginning, it is hard, it takes time, also 90 minutes. Now, two months in, I lie down near to him. Hold his hand, play lullabies and leave the room when he is asleep. It takes between 5 to 20 minutes. My relationship and my serenity improved so much. I would say it's definitely worth the effort
You could skip the cot, we have one in our room sidecarred to our bed, not that he ever uses it. Plan is when we decide he is ready to go in his own room to get him a floor bed so we can still be in bed with him to settle him down. It’s much less of a big transition that way.
Following as I'm in the same boat and my 1 year old hates her cot!
