Colostrum

3rd baby but I’ve only ever formula fed so this is completely new to me! I decided to have a play with my pump (- I’m choosing to express and bottle feed for personal/medical reasons.) and I ended up with 60ml in the 10min session. Google says you shouldn’t get more than a tea spoon in one go - so is this not colostrum? Am I doing something wrong? Confused 😵‍💫

Are you sure it was 60ml ??? Those syringes are 1ml? X

60ml? Did you get 60 of these little syringes?! I’m producing colostrum very well, but very well is equivalent of 8ml a day. So 8, 1ml syringes. If you got 60ml in 1 sitting. That’s all you need for baby!

Oh my god what a numpty. I read them as 60 ml syringes cuz it was 1 - 60 😳🫠 So it was 6ml. Is that a normal amount? I use bloody 60ml and 10ml syringes at work every day as well I KNOW the size of them! I’m blaming baby brain. 🧠

Haha brilliant! Deff baby brain! 6ml a day is fine. Getting 6ml in 10mins is super fast. Keep it up! Hopefully will be helpful when baby comes

Was this just on the lowest setting? I have gd and realllly feeling the need to have some ready to go but getting nothing even with a hand pump 🤦🏼‍♀️

Fab, think I'll go for it this afternoon! Thank you 😊
