Burnt out

I have a 6 month old and 3 year old and, whilst I love them both more than words, and have moments where I could cry with happiness, I feel so burnt out. Our baby is waking up multiple times in the night and our toddler is also waking up at least once a night, sometimes twice. I feel like if we could just get some solid sleep of a night then we would find the days easier. We feel like we are barely keeping our heads above the water and we don’t have a spare minute for ourselves. Does anyone have any tips for mental health? xx

I'm sorry it's challenging right now. Does your baby sleep in your room?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes, they do.

Are you breastfeeding or bottle? You can pm me if you like.

Thank you. Mainly breastfeeding with a bottle before bed.

Same but my toddler is a little over 2. Some days are better than others but it is nonstop. Last night my hubby and I hugged each other and said “we’re gonna get through this” bc the day was so overwhelming and our toddler was a little terror lol. It is rough, the burn out is real. I have no tips, but you’re not alone and this too shall pass. And when it does, we’ll be crazy enough to miss it 😂

My 6 month old sleeps in bed with me and the once or twice he wakes up I just breastfeed him in bed and it helps get some sleep. My husband sleeps with our toddler bc he wakes up and looks for us. So he just lays in bed with him. Not ideal but it helps us get a little more sleep.

I would recommend getting a cosleeper or having your baby sleep in your bed if you're comfortable with that. I did both with all my kids and really didn't miss any sleep because I wasn't getting up and down, turning on lights, etc. I think that because you're breastfeeding and caring for the baby, your partner should be caring for the toddler at night.

Any chance your toddler could do a couple of hours of day care a week to help your sanity?…. I’ve heard head start can be good if money is an issue.
