Sleep

Hello, how long did it take after surgery to be able to sleep comfortably on your side?

Honestly, for me, about 4 weeks, maybe longer. I had a lot of trapped air though, so that intensified recovery for me

About 5-6 weeks comfortably although I would wake up late 2 weeks to 3 weeks already flat on my back and to the side slightly x

Honestly, I slept on my side immediately post op. It was the only comfortable position I could find. Around 3weeks pp I was able to sleep on my stomach again, which is how I preferred to sleep pre pregnancy.

Took me 3 weeks to be comfortable to do it at all without a support pillow: used smaller version of one I had for 3rd trimester. I’m 4 weeks now and can sleep on my side but still feel it a little certain nights.

Pop a thin pillow underneath your belly when laying on your side, it helps SO much!

A week or so after. I’m a side sleeper so I just took it easy and managed to find it comfortable.

And you can use the pillow to hold against your incision as you roll over. You definitely will sleep poorly like pre-baby at the end when you’re giant, but it gets better

About 3-4wks

I think about 4 weeks for me

4/5 weeks x
